Customs and Biman Leadership Meet

A courtesy meeting was conducted at Biman’s head office, Balaka, between Dhaka Customs Commissioner, AKM Nurul Huda Azad, and the Managing Director and CEO of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Shafiul Azim (Additional Secretary). The primary focus of the meeting revolved around the development of cargo management at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

Discussions during the meeting covered various crucial aspects, such as the evolution of Dhaka as a cargo hub, the introduction of freighters, improvements to the transit and transfer cargo management process, wire house construction, integration of the customs system with the air cargo distribution system, and simplification of the import-export system.

Biman’s high-level officials, including  Chiddikur Rahman (Joint Secretary), Director of Administration and Human Resources, Kamrul Hasan Khan, Director of Cargo, Mohammad Salahuddin, Director of Marketing and Sales, and NDC (Joint Secretary), were actively present. Moreover, Kazi Farid Uddin, Additional Commissioner of Dhaka Customs House, contributed to the discussions, enhancing the collaborative efforts between the Customs Commissioner’s office and Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
