Abdul Muyeed Chowdhury appointed Chairman of Biman Bangladesh Airlines
Abdul Muyeed Chowdhury has been appointed as the new chairman of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, according to a gazette notification issued by the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry. The notification, dated August 18, also announced the relief of former chairman Mostafa Kamal Uddin from his duties.
Muyeed’s appointment comes under Section 38 of the Articles of Association of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Limited, as stipulated by the Companies Act of 1994. His return to the airline marks a significant shift in leadership, aiming to steer Biman towards new achievements.
Chowdhury, who previously served as the managing director and CEO of Biman from 1991 to 1994, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. His extensive career includes various high-profile positions within the government, notably as a former government secretary. This seasoned background is expected to play a crucial role in advancing the national carrier’s objectives.
