Biman Bangladesh Airlines celebrates Safety Week

Biman Bangladesh Airlines is celebrating Security Week from December 2 to 4, 2024, to raise awareness about security among its esteemed passengers and crew.

Biman Managing Director and CEO Dr. Md. Shafiqur Rahman officially inaugurated the Security Week by cutting the ribbon at the head office in Balaka on Monday (December 2).

Biman directors, senior officials and members of the security department were present at the event.

General Manager (Security) of Biman Major Mahmudul Hasan presented the activities of Biman’s security department and the overall theme of the security week.

He said that Biman’s security department provides security to passengers’ baggage, cargo, aircraft and installations with a good reputation.

Round-the-clock surveillance is carried out through state-of-the-art body cameras and CCTV surveillance, he added.

In addition, after passengers disembark from the aircraft, the cabin is checked and valuables forgotten by the passengers are recovered and returned to the honored passengers. The security department also earns significant revenue by providing security-related services to other airlines in addition to Biman, Mahmudul Hasan said.
