Embassy of China & ATAB host China-Bangladesh Tourism Promotion Conference

The Embassy of China, in collaboration with the Association of Travel Agents of Bangladesh (ATAB) and the Bangladesh National Museum, successfully organized the China-Bangladesh Tourism Promotion Conference on 10th December 2024.

The conference was attended by Li Shaopeng, Cultural Counselor of China Embassy Bangladesh. The Chief Guest for the event was Abu Tahir Muhammad Zaber, CEO, Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB). Special guests included Fatema Rahim Veena, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism and, Ireen Farzana, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Cultural Affairs.

During the conference, speakers highlighted the business opportunities in inbound and outbound tourism between China and Bangladesh. The discussions aimed to strengthen tourism cooperation and promote cultural exchange between the two nations.

ATAB President Mr. Abdus Salam Aref said ATAB is pleased to host this conference in collaboration with China Embassy to exchange tourism with China.

He invited Chinese Govt. and businessman to invest in tourism sectors in Bangladesh.

Li Shaopeng, Cultural Counselor of China Embassy, welcomed Bangladeshi tourists in China and hoped to enhance relation and exchange of tourism & culture between the two nations.

Additional Secretary of Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism Fatema Rahim Veena emphasized on possibility and interest in China’s development investment in tourism sector of Bangladesh.

The CEO of BTB Abu Tahir Muhammad Zaber expressed interest to work together to exchange tourism between Bangladesh & China.

The event also featured cultural performances, tourism photo and documentary exhibitions, and a video presentation from Biman Bangladesh Airlines to promote Bangladesh tourism. The exhibitions will continue for five days.

The event was well-attended by ATAB President Abdus Salam Aref, Secretary General Afsia Jannat Saleh, Deputy General Manager of Legal Affair sof Biman Bangladesh Airlines Md Al Masood Khan, key members of ATAB, including the Deputy Secretary General Toaha Chowdhury, Finance Secretary Shafiq Ullah Nantu, Executive Committee members, Dhaka Zonal Committee members, and general members.
