AirAsia ranked world’s best low-cost airline for 2025
Malaysia-based AirAsia has been ranked the best low-cost airline globally for 2025 by airline safety and product rating website AirlineRatings.
AirlineRatings CEO Sharon Petersen praised AirAsia for its wide flight network, which links Southeast Asia with global destinations, and its affordable prices, according to a statement by the airline.
It also offers some of the most delicious hot meals among low-cost carriers, she added.
The award thoroughly assessed airlines based on what they offers passengers throughout their fleet and network, with a focus on passenger comfort, feedback, and consistent service quality across an airline’s routes.
For full-service carriers, South Korea’s flag carrier Korean Air secured the top spot globally for its strong focus on passenger comfort. It stands out for its Economy Class, where its wide-body aircraft offer industry-leading seat pitches of 33–34 inches.
On the ranking list for hybrid airlines, which are those that blend elements of full-service and low-cost models, the U.S.’ JetBlue ranked first globally.
