It is with great honor and a deep sense of fulfillment that I witness a long-cherished vision come to life. I once shared in the media that if the globally admired Nobel Laureate, Professor Dr. Mohammad Yunus, Chief Adviser (GOB) extended a simple video message inviting the world — “Come to Bangladesh and be my guest” — it could transform our nation’s global engagement and investment landscape. Today, that vision is a reality. The Investment Summit in Bangladesh, under the inspirational leadership of Dr. Yunus, marks a new era of opportunity, collaboration, and promise.
As the President of the Bangladesh International Hotel Association (BIHA), I would like to emphasize the critical role the hospitality and tourism industry plays in the socio-economic development of Bangladesh. The industry not only represents a gateway for global engagement but also stands as one of the most promising sectors for foreign and local investment.
All member hotels under BIHA are at the forefront of accommodating foreign delegates, investors, and travelers from across the world. They are actively supporting the country’s development by providing world-class hospitality services, creating employment, and building international confidence in Bangladesh as a safe, welcoming, and investment-friendly destination.
This vibrant sector — driven by private sector initiatives — is directly contributing to national growth by enhancing infrastructure, generating revenue, and boosting the country’s image globally. However, for this momentum to be sustained and scaled, we urgently seek greater attention, policy support, and facilitation from the Government of Bangladesh. Regulatory ease, fiscal incentives, and streamlined investment pathways are essential to attract and retain serious global investors in the hospitality industry.
I firmly believe that the Investment Summit will mark a milestone in the journey of economic transformation for Bangladesh. It is an open call to the world — to see the potential, experience the opportunity, and become part of our success story.
