Corneal Tissue from Nepal arrives for Victims of July Protests

Biman Bangladesh Airlines (BBAL) transported highly sensitive corneal tissue from Nepal to Bangladesh, free of charge, for the treatment of two individuals injured during the July anti-discrimination student protests.

The corneal tissue, intended for transplantation, arrived in Dhaka on 20 September 2024 via flight BG 372 from Kathmandu. It was handed over to representatives of the National Ophthalmology Institute and Hospital for immediate use.

Present at the handover were Dr. Naoroze Ferdous, Assistant Professor at the National Ophthalmology Institute, Md Rashedul Karim, General Manager of Airport Services for Biman Bangladesh Airlines, and other officials.

As the national flag carrier, Biman Bangladesh Airlines remains committed to supporting the country and its people in times of need and pledges to continue this service in the future.
