The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has warned airlines and service providers against engaging in unauthorized ground handling and other operational services at the country’s airports, saying violations will invite legal and enforcement action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The aviation regulator issued the warning after it came to its notice that certain entities were providing or intending to provide ground handling and operational services without obtaining the required authorization or licence from CAAB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a notice signed by CAAB Member (Flight Standard and Regulations) Air Commodore Md. Manirul Islam, the authority made it clear that no person or entity would be allowed to provide such services to any airline or aircraft operator at any airport in Bangladesh without prior authorization or a valid licence issued by CAAB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Any entity intending to provide ground handling and\/or any other operational services shall obtain the necessary authorization\/license from CAAB before commencing such activities,” the notice said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
CAAB also instructed airlines and aircraft operators to engage only organizations that have appropriate authorization or licences from the aviation regulator for ground handling and other operational services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The authority cautioned that any violation of the directive would constitute an offence and would be dealt with in accordance with the Civil Aviation Authority Act, 2017, and other applicable aviation laws and regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Violators could face appropriate enforcement measures and legal action, it warned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
