Bangladesh and the United Kingdom have reinforced cooperation in aviation security through specialised training aimed at strengthening preparedness against evolving threats and building supervisory capacity at the country’s airports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The five-day \u201cAviation Security Supervisor Training\u201d of the UK Department for Transport (DfT) concluded at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) on Thursday, according to a Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) press release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Organised at the initiative of the British High Commission in Dhaka and managed by CAAB’s Aviation Security (AvSec) Division, the programme brought together AvSec supervisors and officials from different airports across Bangladesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
UK trainers provided specialised instruction on key areas of aviation security, with particular emphasis on responding to evolving security risks, strengthening supervisory capacity and ensuring effective security management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Addressing the closing ceremony, CAAB Member (Security) Air Commodore Md Asif Iqbal stressed the need for continuous improvement in the knowledge, skills and preparedness of aviation security personnel as threats to the sector continue to evolve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said effective coordination among all agencies concerned and development of a strong security culture are essential to ensuring aviation security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Asif also underscored the importance of balancing robust security at HSIA with improved passenger services and smoother passenger movement through the country’s principal international gateway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
British High Commission Counsellor Ryan Duncanson highlighted the importance of Bangladesh-UK cooperation in strengthening aviation security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He expressed the British government’s interest in continuing cooperation through similar training initiatives to further enhance Bangladesh’s aviation security system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officials from the UK Department for Transport, British High Commission and CAAB, among others, attended the closing ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
