Fifteen firefighters of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) have completed a 60-day specialised training course aimed at strengthening fire safety and emergency response capabilities at the country\u2019s airports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The certificates were handed to the trainees at the closing ceremony of the Crash Fire & Rescue (CFR) Initial Course No. 05 at the Civil Aviation Academy in Dhaka on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The training began on June 10 and concluded on September 1. It was organised to develop skilled manpower capable of responding effectively to aircraft accidents, fires and other airport emergencies while maintaining international safety standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The participating firefighters received both theoretical and practical training on aviation firefighting. The practical sessions included firefighting drills at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and training in the operation of specialised firefighting vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officials said the training would help the participants improve airport fire safety and respond to emergencies in line with standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking at the closing ceremony as chief guest, Director of the Civil Aviation Academy Prasanta Kumar Chakraborty said the success of such training would depend on ensuring adequate fire protection facilities at all airports across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
CAAB Director (Fire) Md Rafiqul Islam, who attended the ceremony as a special guest, said the trained personnel would play an important role in airport emergency management and in implementing Airport Emergency Plans in accordance with ICAO standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Deputy Director (ATM-Civil Aviation Academy) Md Majibur Rahman Miaji and Deputy Director (Design Standards and AGA) Md Abdul Latif were also present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The course is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen airport fire safety in Bangladesh in line with ICAO\u2019s global aviation emergency preparedness framework. Officials said the knowledge and practical skills gained through the programme would enhance the capacity of airport personnel to manage fires, aircraft accidents and other emergency situations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
