The three-day Bangladesh Travel and Tourism Fair (BTTF) 2026 will begin in the capital on Thursday, highlighting artificial intelligence (AI), technological innovation and sustainable tourism development under the theme “AI Powered Tourism, Sustainable Destination”.
The 14th edition of the international tourism fair, organised by the Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB), will be held from October 29 to 31 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre (BCFCC).
TOAB President Mohammad Hanif announced the details at a press conference held at Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport on Tuesday.
“The fair aims to accelerate Bangladesh’s tourism development by integrating modern technology and artificial intelligence into tourism services, promoting environmentally responsible travel and strengthening international connectivity,” Hanif said.
Tourism organisations, airlines, hospitality operators and industry representatives from more than 20 countries are expected to participate in the event, he added.
Participating countries include Nepal, India, Singapore, the Maldives, the Philippines, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, China, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Thailand, Brunei, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and Azerbaijan.
Hanif said that the fair will feature more than 200 booths and stalls, over 220 exhibitors, more than 250 qualified buyers and approximately 2,500 trade visitors.
More than 60,000 visitors are expected to attend the three-day event, which will bring together over 200 airlines, hotels and tour operators across four theme-based exhibition halls.
The organisers said the fair would provide a platform for domestic and international tourism businesses to showcase products, explore investment opportunities, develop partnerships and establish business-to-business (B2B) connections.
TOAB President Mohammad said the event had emerged as an important regional tourism platform through the successful organisation of its previous 13 editions.
“Building on the success of the past 13 editions, BTTF has today become one of South Asia’s leading tourism platforms,” he said.
Hanif said the fair would help showcase Bangladesh’s tourism potential internationally while facilitating networking opportunities with global tourism brands and creating new commercial prospects for local operators.
The introduction of artificial intelligence as the central theme reflects the growing importance of digital transformation in the global travel and tourism industry.
The organisers said technological innovation could help improve tourism services, strengthen destination marketing and create more efficient connections between travellers and tourism service providers.
At the same time, the emphasis on sustainable destinations is intended to encourage environmentally responsible tourism practices and support the long-term development of Bangladesh’s tourism resources.
The fair is also expected to provide opportunities for Bangladeshi tour operators to establish direct contacts with international buyers, travel agencies, airlines and hospitality businesses.
US-Bangla Airlines is the title sponsor of this year’s event, while Biman Bangladesh Airlines is participating as the airline partner.
The fair is being organised with the overall cooperation of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Ministry of Cultural Affairs, National Skills Development Authority (NSDA), Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, Bangladesh Tourism Board, Bangladesh Tourist Police and Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI).
TOAB said the fair would contribute to strengthening Bangladesh’s position in the international tourism market by connecting local tourism businesses with global stakeholders and promoting the country’s diverse tourism attractions.
The association also expressed optimism that the event would generate new business opportunities, encourage innovation and support the development of a more competitive and sustainable tourism industry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
