Biman Bangladesh Airlines expanded the use of body-worn cameras in baggage handling at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to enhance transparency, protect passengers\u2019 property and ensure accountability across all incoming international flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The national flag carrier said the decision was taken in line with international aviation safety and security protocols, under which airport authorities may open or cut baggage during inspections without prior consent to remove prohibited or contraband items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Biman noted that passengers often hold the airline or the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh responsible for baggage damage caused during such security checks, while allegations also persist of involvement by unscrupulous groups in some incidents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To address these concerns, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has begun monitoring the loading and unloading of baggage for every arriving international flight at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport through body-worn cameras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The airline has been using body-worn cameras for baggage delivery operations on its own flights since June 2024, officials said, adding that positive results prompted the extension of the system to all international airlines receiving Biman\u2019s ground handling services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The formal inauguration of the expanded service was held December 21 under the leadership of Badrul Hasan Liton, Director (Customer Service) and Joint Secretary of Biman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking on the occasion, the director said that the initiative would ensure transparency and accountability at every stage of baggage handling, boost passenger confidence and further enhance staff professionalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Biman Bangladesh Airlines said it would continue to use digital technology to raise passenger service and security standards to new heights in the future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
