Biman Bangladesh Airlines has formed an internal board to review allegations related to the licensing of some of its pilots after receiving an anonymous email raising concerns over the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a press release issued on March 5, the national flag carrier said the internal board was constituted on January 28 to conduct an administrative review and verify the claims by consulting the relevant regulatory authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the statement, Biman has already formally communicated with the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) to verify the information linked to the allegations. The airline emphasised that no final decision has been taken so far and that the matter remains under review by the appropriate authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The airline also expressed concern that some media outlets are attempting to publish or broadcast reports based on unverified information regarding the issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSuch speculative reporting may create unnecessary confusion among the public and could potentially harm the reputation of the country\u2019s aviation sector both domestically and internationally,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Biman reiterated that it remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, professional competence and regulatory compliance. It added that the airline is working closely with CAAB and other relevant authorities while ensuring transparency in addressing the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The carrier further noted that the issue is currently under investigation by CAAB and that matters related to pilot licensing and regulatory oversight fall entirely under the authority\u2019s jurisdiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this context, Biman requested print and electronic media outlets to refrain from publishing or broadcasting unverified or speculative reports regarding pilot licensing until the investigation is completed and official information is released by the competent authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
