Prime Minister opens Chattogram’s Dohazari to Cox’s Bazar Rail Line

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged the countrymen to remain aware of the brutality of the BNP and its political ally Jamaat-e-Islami.

The Prime Minister made the call while addressing a mass rally organized by Maheshkhali upazila unit of Awami League at Matarbari on Saturday afternoon.

She urged the people to raise their voices against the brutality of the BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami across the country to foil the general elections.

Leaders and activists of Awami League and its affiliated organizations came to Matarbari from different upazilas of Cox’s Bazar.
Ahead of the 12th National Parliamentary election, the candidates came to the rally wearing different coloured t-shirts and caps to highlight their presence.

Earlier on the day, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated a total of 14 projects including the much-awaited 102-kilometre Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar dual-gauge single railway line, setting yet another milestone in the country’s communication network.

The much awaited 102km Chattogram’s Dohazari-Cox’s Bazar Rail Line was constructed at a cost of Taka 18034.47 crore, opening a new era in railway connectivity in the country.

After opening the train line, Sheikh Hasina took a ride on a train from Cox’s Bazar to Ramu after buying a ticket for herself.

Industry insiders mentioned that the opening of the said rail line will boost the tourism income.
