TCRD holds roundtable discussion

TSSB Center for Research and Development (TCRD) organized a round table discussion on “Unlocking the Potential of Young Researchers in Bangladesh: Prospects and Challenges” at a city hotel recently.
Dr. Aftaf Uddin, an eminent researcher was the moderator of the meeting.

Distinguished international researcher and educator Prof. Dr. PC Sarkar, Vice-Chancellor, Sheikh Hasina University of Science and Technology were also present on the occasion to deliver their valuable speech.
At the beginning of the program, the managing director of TCRD, Md. Kariul Islam highlighted the main theme of the program through his welcome speech and expressed his thanks and gratitude to all the participants.
A significant number of participants in the round table meeting included distinguished assistant professors, professors, and vice-chancellors of public and private universities.
Among the participants were young innovators, researchers, students, high-ranking officials of government and private institutions, and media workers.
The participation of all in the program was a significant and lively discussion in which the barriers to creating young researchers in Bangladesh, the ways to overcome the barriers, and the possibilities of young researchers in Bangladesh and abroad have come up.
The discussion focused on the roles and responsibilities of government, private universities, and corporate sectors in developing young researchers in Bangladesh and how Bangladesh can play an appropriate role in removing the barriers to developing young researchers by acting as a coordinator of the Institute.
The reputed professors from all the government, and private universities present, and senior officials from the corporate sector will play a leading role in providing their utmost support in serving as coordinators of the event.
The discussion of all the participants in the round table meeting was so lively that the moderator was forced to continue the program even after the scheduled time.
Before officially ending the program, international researcher and educator Professor Dr. PC Govt. Dr. Sarkar expressed his views on a range of important topics to be discussed and how the Institute will play a significant role in developing young researchers by fulfilling its coordinating role.
Dr. Sarkar thanked all the participants present for their lively discussions. He thanked the organizers and requested them to hold similar events in the future and declared the event officially closed.

Zeeshan Kingsuk Huq, Chairman of Bangladesh Public Health Foundation, Dr. Aftab Uddin, Professor Dr. Abdul Hannan, Professor Dr. Khosru Mia of North South University, Vice Chancellors of different universities, Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohiuddin, Bot Adviser of Southeast University, Prof, Dr. Meshquat Uddin and other distinguished academic leaders and researchers are also presents on this event.
