Biman to use own aircraft for Hajj flights

Biman Bangladesh Airlines will use its aircraft this year for operating Hajj flights instead of leasing planes.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines has taken effective steps to successfully implement the transport system for the honorable Hajj 2024. Dedicated flights will be operated from Dhaka, Chittagong, and Sylhet to Jeddah and Madina Adequate manpower has been deployed for the purpose in Jeddah and Madinah.
Besides, adequate manpower has been deployed at the Hajj office in Dhaka at the flight boarding and immigration counters. Dhaka Hajj office has facilities for ticket issues of Balti Hajids and solving problems related to non-Balti Hajids tickets at the Biman sales counter.
A total of 86527 pilgrims from Bangladesh will be transported to the holy Hajj 2024 this year. Out of this, Biman Bangladesh Airlines will transport 50% Hajis, numbering 43899 people.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines will operate a total of 116 dedicated flights in pre-Hajj. Among them 82 were from Dhaka to Jeddah, 17 from Chittagong to Jeddah, 5 from Sylhet to Jeddah, 9 from Dhaka to Madina, 2 from Chittagong to Madina, and 1 from Sylhet to Madina.
Besides, Biman Bangladesh Airlines will operate a total of 125 dedicated Hajj flights after Hajj post Hajj. Among them 73 from Jeddah to Dhaka, 15 from Jeddah to Chittagong, 2 from Jeddah to Sylhet, 22 from Madina to Dhaka, 9 from Madina to Chittagong, and 4 from Madina to Sylhet.
The pilgrims can transport a total of 46 kg of cargo in two pitches of 23 kg in both directions.  Pre-Hajj flights will start from May 9, 2024. The Prime Minister will officially inaugurate the Holy Hajj 2024 on 8 May 2024.
