BIHA Holds Installation Ceremony for Newly Elected Executive Committee
The Bangladesh International Hotel Association (BIHA), the apex trade body representing the country’s luxury and international hotel and resort sector, on Saturday held the installation ceremony of its newly elected Executive Committee for the 2026–2028 term.
The ceremony took place at Hall De Grand of Golden Tulip The Grandmark Dhaka in Banani under the theme “Celebrating Leadership • Unity • Excellence.”
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M. Rashiduzzaman Millat, MP, attended the event as the chief guest.
The event brought together senior government officials, industry leaders, hotel owners and hospitality professionals, underscoring BIHA’s commitment to strengthening Bangladesh’s tourism and hospitality sector through strategic collaboration, policy support and international standards.
Among those present were senior officials from the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism (MoCAT), the Directorate of Trade Organizations (DGTO), the Ministry of Commerce and BIHA Administrator Md. Shajebur Rahman.
Speaking at the ceremony, newly elected BIHA President Nasser Rahman, MP, said the association remains committed to positioning Bangladesh as a premium global tourism destination.
“As Bangladesh’s hospitality landscape undergoes rapid expansion, BIHA remains dedicated to fostering unity, elevating operational excellence, and collaborating closely with key government ministries to build a sustainable, world-class tourism infrastructure,” he said.
Immediate Past President Khaled Ur Rahaman highlighted the importance of leadership continuity, saying the transition reflects the resilience and collective strength of BIHA’s member hotels.
“We are confident that the incoming committee will continue to champion policy advocacy and elevate industry standards nationwide,” he added.
The event was attended by managing directors, chief executive officers, general managers and owners of leading international and luxury hotels and resorts from across Bangladesh.
