Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan launches ‘Drops of Hope’ blood donation campaign

Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan, in collaboration with the Bangladesh Thalassemia Foundation, has organised a blood donation camp titled “Drops of Hope”, reflecting the hotel’s commitment to supporting the community and creating meaningful social impact beyond its hospitality operations.

The initiative marked the launch of IHG Giving for Good Month 2026 at the hotel, bringing together employees in a collective effort to support patients living with thalassaemia, according to a press release.

Nearly 50% of the hotel’s employees came forward to participate in the blood donation initiative. The hotel said their collective contribution had the potential to benefit 60–70 thalassaemia patients and their families.

For people living with thalassaemia, regular blood transfusions are an essential part of treatment and survival. Against this backdrop, the initiative carries particular significance, as each unit of donated blood may provide vital support and renewed hope to a patient.

Officer – Donor Relations and Partnership Development at the Bangladesh Thalassemia Foundation Niaj Masud Rahat expressed appreciation for the collaboration and the participation of the hotel’s employees.

“Bangladesh Thalassemia Foundation works for the wellbeing of thalassaemia patients and supports their treatment, for which regular blood transfusions are a critical need,” Rahat said.

“We are truly grateful to Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan for coming forward and being part of this initiative. Seeing almost half of the hotel’s employees voluntarily participate and donate blood is truly inspiring,” he added.

Rahat said the donations had the potential to benefit 60–70 patients and their families.

“Initiatives such as IHG Giving for Good Month are highly commendable, as they encourage people to come together, give back and create a real impact in the community,” he said.

The blood donation camp marked the beginning of Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan’s IHG Giving for Good Month 2026 activities.

Throughout September, the hotel will undertake a series of initiatives centred on community, education, wellbeing and sustainability, encouraging employees to participate in efforts to create positive change.

The hotel said the campaign reflected the idea that giving back could begin with something as simple as donating blood and that every donation could become a source of hope for someone in need.

Through IHG Giving for Good Month 2026, Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan said it would continue working as a responsible member of the community by undertaking initiatives intended to create meaningful social impact.
