CAAB completes ICAO-supported aviation training course

The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has completed a three-day training course with support from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to improve the review of training materials for aviation professionals.

Held from October 25 to 27 at the Civil Aviation Academy, the course focused on reviewing training materials developed under the Competency-based Training and Assessment (CBTA) approach, according to a CAAB press release.

ICAO Senior Instructor Capt Mostafa Hoummady conducted the training, which was attended by senior CAAB officials, training managers, instructors, pilots, air traffic controllers, flight safety officers and other aviation professionals.

The course covered methods for assessing the quality of training materials, ensuring compliance with international standards and improving competency-based training.

Civil Aviation Academy Director and ICAO Instructor Prashanta Kumar Chakraborty said the training would help strengthen CAAB’s capacity to develop and review courses in line with international standards.

CAAB Member (Air Traffic Management) Air Commodore Md Nur-e-Alam said competency-based training was important for assessing practical skills and improving training standards.
