4-day ‘Taste of Bangladesh’ to kick off Friday
The Tourism Board of Bangladesh is going to organize a four-day long “Taste of Bangladesh” in the capital’s Banani from Friday, aiming to showcase all major Bengali cuisines at one event.
Civil aviation and tourism adviser AF Hasan Arif is scheduled to inaugurate the festival at 4:00pm.
The food festival will remain open for all, from 10am to 10pm till Monday, at the Mustafa Kemal Ataturk Park in Banani, organisers said at a press briefing on Wednesday.
A total of 62 establishments will display and sell over 50 food items, ranging from traditional Bengali dishes to regional palates in the festival.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation will offer their best delicacies to cater to the tastes of visitors.
“The aim of the festival is to attract foreigners as well as the local people,” said Bangladesh Tourism Board Chief Executive Officer Abu Taher Muhammad Jaber at the briefing.
Saima Shahin Sultana, Chairman of Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, was present at the press briefing.
According to Bangladesh Tourism Board officials, regional and traditional cultural programmes have also been organised in this four-day event.
Baul songs, Gambhira, Lalon song, Qawwali songs, and Puthi Path will be organised every day during the festival. The Taste of Bangladesh has been organised to promote all the traditional foods, songs and culture of the Bengali people.

Under the Bangladesh Tourism Board management and planning, the event is assisted by Spellbound Communications Ltd, with health partner United Hospital, ice cream partner Polar, corporate partner Runner Automobiles and RR cables, EV partner BYD, Hospitality partner Pan Pacific Sonargaon and InterContinental Dhaka and cultural partner Cultural Classicists.
Besides, Dhaka North City Corporation, WASA, Bangladesh Police Gulshan Division, DESCO, Fire Service and Tourist Police, SME Foundation, Bangladesh Food Safety Authority, Dhaka Banani Society, will provide overall support in organizing and managing the festival.
