SalamAir’s 9th Anniversary Celebrated with Travel Trade and Diplomatic Presence
SalamAir, Oman’s low-cost carrier, marked its 9th anniversary with an exclusive celebration held at Renaissance Dhaka, hosted by AeroWing Aviation Limited, the General Sales Agentfor SalamAir in Bangladesh. The event celebrated nearly a decade of SalamAir’s journey in providing affordable and reliable air travel while strengthening aviation and tourism ties between the Sultanate of Oman and Bangladesh.
The celebration was honored by the presence of H.E. Jamil Haji Ismail Al Balushi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Also in attendance were Md. Nasser Shahrear Zahedee, Chairman of AeroWing (GSA – SalamAir), M A Latif Shahrear Zahedee, Managing Director of AeroWing, and Muhammad Ariful Islam Rajan, Country Manager of SalamAir Bangladesh, along with members of the SalamAir Bangladesh team. Leading premium travel agencies from across the country also joined the event.
During the program, SalamAir’s growth over the past nine years was highlighted, including its expanding network, growing fleet, and rising passenger demand. In 2025, SalamAir operated more than 22,000 flights and carried over 3.4 million passengers across a network of more than 44 destinations.
Following a strong performance in 2025, SalamAir is set to further expand its fleet with three new aircraft scheduled for delivery in mid-2026. The airline has recently launched services to Port Sudan (January 2026) and announced upcoming new routes to Damascus (May), Vienna (June), and Medan (July), continuing its strategy of network diversification.
Commenting on the occasion, Muhammad Ariful Islam Rajan, Country Manager of SalamAir Bangladesh, said, “Our nine-year journey is defined by resilience and innovation. In Bangladesh, operating 20 weekly flights with A321neo aircraft allows us to offer our passengers a modern, efficient, and reliable travel experience while connecting them to destinations across the Middle East and beyond.”
SalamAir currently operates 20 weekly flights from Bangladesh, including 11 flights from Chattogram and 9 flights from Dhaka, using state-of-the-art A321neo aircraft. These services provide Bangladeshi travelers with affordable and convenient access to Oman and onward destinations across the airline’s growing network.
The anniversary celebration underscored SalamAir’s strong partnership with the Bangladesh travel trade and reaffirmed the airline’s continued commitment to supporting outbound travel demand from the market.
