Jazeera Airways Relaunches Dhaka Flights, Restores Kuwait–Bangladesh Connectivity

Jazeera Airways has announced the relaunch of its Dhaka services, reinstating air connectivity between Kuwait and Bangladesh amid ongoing disruptions in regional travel operations.

The airline will operate three weekly flights starting from April 12, marking the first active air link currently available between the two countries. With this move, Jazeera Airways becomes the only carrier maintaining direct connectivity on the Kuwait–Bangladesh route during this period.

According to the airline, flights will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Departures from Dhaka are scheduled at 17:15, with arrivals in Dammam at 21:25. The service will be routed via King Fahad International Airport in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, with onward bus transfers arranged from Dammam to Kuwait.

The relaunch is expected to play a critical role in facilitating travel for the Bangladeshi expatriate community in Kuwait, one of the largest foreign populations in the country. The route will support passengers seeking to reunite with families, return to workplaces, or undertake essential travel.

Bangladesh Ambassador to Kuwait, Major General Syed Tareq Hussain, welcomed the development, noting that the initiative provides vital support to Bangladeshi nationals during a challenging period. He also acknowledged the cooperation between Kuwaiti and Saudi authorities in enabling the operation, describing it as a reflection of continued bilateral engagement and people-focused connectivity.

Jazeera Airways said the service will also contribute to cargo movement, helping maintain the flow of essential goods into Kuwait. Dhaka, as a key economic hub in South Asia, remains an important source market for both passenger and freight traffic.

Chief Executive Officer Barathan Pasupathi said the relaunch represents a significant step in restoring connectivity while addressing the needs of a key expatriate community. He added that, beyond passenger services, the route will help sustain supply chains by supporting cargo transportation during a period of logistical strain.

The airline is currently operating through a dual-base model in Saudi Arabia, utilizing facilities in Dammam and Qaisumah. This approach combines air and overland transport to ensure operational continuity and flexibility amid prevailing constraints.

Jazeera Airways currently serves more than 31 destinations and is operating over 1,000 flights with around 200,000 seats available through the end of April. The airline continues to position itself as a key player in maintaining regional connectivity and supporting supply chain resilience during the ongoing disruption.
