Tourism Malaysia ramps up Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign in Bangladesh
Tourism Malaysia is boosting its efforts to promote the Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) campaign through its participation in the Dhaka Travel Mart (DTM) 2026, scheduled for 9 to 11 April.
Marking its 14th appearance at DTM since the event’s inception in 2002, the Malaysian delegation is led by Solehuddin Ahmad, Deputy Director of the International Promotion Division (Asia & Africa). The team includes representatives from the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC), Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), and key travel trade partners such as tour operators and airlines.

In response to growing demand for diverse travel experiences, Malaysia is expanding its tourism offerings, including niche segments like medical tourism, educational tourism, and eco-tourism, particularly targeting visitors from Bangladesh and the wider South Asian region.
“Bangladesh remains an important market for Malaysia, and we are committed to strengthening our presence while working closely with tourism stakeholders to drive the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign across this region,” said Mohd Amirul Rizal Abdul Rahim, Director-General of Tourism Malaysia.

Tourism Malaysia’s participation in DTM 2026 provides a strategic platform to enhance visibility, showcase its diverse tourism products, and strengthen partnerships with Bangladeshi counterparts.
In 2025, Malaysia recorded 42,196,892 international visitor arrivals, including 281,492 from Bangladesh—a rise of 82.1% compared to the previous year. Connectivity between Dhaka and Malaysia is supported by 41 direct weekly flights offering approximately 11,340 seats, served by Malaysia Airlines, Batik Air, AirAsia, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, and US-Bangla Airlines.
