TOAB’s New Executive Committee Officially Assumes Office

The newly elected Executive Committee of the Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB) for the 2026–2028 term, led by President Mohammad Hanif, has officially assumed office following a formal handover ceremony held at the association’s headquarters in Dhaka.

During the ceremony, Immediate Past President Md. Rafeuzzaman, on behalf of the outgoing Executive Committee, formally handed over responsibilities to President Mohammad Hanif and the newly elected board members, according to a TOAB press release.

The event was attended by former and newly elected directors, past office-bearers, TOAB members, and officials of the association.

Speaking after assuming office, President Mohammad Hanif expressed his gratitude to TOAB members and voters for placing their confidence in the new leadership. He reaffirmed the committee’s commitment to advancing Bangladesh’s tourism industry, promoting the country as an attractive international destination, safeguarding the interests of TOAB members, and transforming the association into a more dynamic and modern organization.

He said the new Executive Committee would focus on the sustainable development of the tourism sector, strengthening policy support, expanding international cooperation, and enhancing the business capabilities of TOAB members.

On behalf of the outgoing committee, Immediate Past President Md. Rafeuzzaman congratulated the newly elected leadership and urged members to continue supporting the association’s growth and development.

The 2026–2028 Executive Committee was elected through voting held on June 16 at the Bangladesh Tourism Corporation auditorium in Agargaon, Dhaka. The committee formally began its tenure through the handover ceremony.

In the election, Mohammad Hanif was directly elected President by the general membership. The elected office-bearers include Syed Shafat Uddin Ahmed Tamal as First Vice President, Md. Moinul Islam as Vice President (1), Ziaur Rahman Zakir as Vice President (2), Jahir Ahmed Helal as Finance Director, Md. Zahir Uddin as Accounts Director, and Md. Firozul Islam as Director of International Affairs.

Other elected office-bearers are Md. Mizanur Rahman as Director of Media and Public Relations, Md. Abul Baset Babu as Director of Trade and Fair Affairs, Md. Robiul Islam Robi as Director of Legal Affairs, Md. Abu Raihan Sarkar as Director of Printing and Publications, Naimul Hasan as Director of Training and Research, Mominul Islam Asif as Director of Information Technology, Syed Md. Imtiaz as Director of Cultural and Sports Affairs, A.B.M. Zakaria (Rajib) as Director of Membership and Human Welfare, and Shakhawat Hossain as Director of Property and Assets.

The newly elected directors are Md. Mohi Uddin Selim, Tamim Ahmed, and Md. Nurul Anwar. Md. Nasir Uddin Badal was elected Director representing the Associate Members’ Group.

The new committee is expected to play a key role in strengthening Bangladesh’s tourism sector, fostering industry collaboration, and enhancing the global visibility of the country’s tourism offerings during its two-year tenure.
