SalamAir Expands Bangladesh Network with New Direct Flights to Sylhet

SalamAir, Oman’s Low-Cost airline, is pleased to announce the launch of its new direct service between Muscat and Sylhet (ZYL), Bangladesh, commencing in September 2026. The new route will operate three weekly flights, further strengthening connectivity between the Sultanate of Oman and one of Bangladesh’s most important regions.

The new route offers travelers convenient departures from both Muscat and Salalah, with seamless connections via Muscat, providing greater accessibility for customers across Oman.

To celebrate the launch, one-way fares start from just OMR 66.99, offering customers an affordable way to travel between Oman and Bangladesh.

Sylhet represents one of Bangladesh’s fastest-growing aviation markets and serves a population of more than 10 million people. Adding further significance to the launch, SalamAir will become the first international airline to operate scheduled services to all three international airports in Bangladesh, marking an important step towards SalamAir’s strategy connecting underserved and high-potential markets

Commenting on the launch, Steven Allen, Chief Commercial Officer of SalamAir, said:  “The introduction of direct flights to Sylhet is a milestone for SalamAir and reflects our continued commitment to expanding connectivity between Oman and Bangladesh. Bangladesh is a strategically important market for us, and Sylhet presents significant opportunities to serve family travel, tourism, business and religious traffic. We are proud to become the first foreign airline to operate scheduled flights to Sylhet, further strengthening the strong people-to-people ties between Oman and Bangladesh while offering our customers more affordable and convenient travel options.”

Bangladesh continues to be one of South Asia’s fastest-growing aviation markets, recording annual aviation growth of approximately 7.5%, with demand driven by increasing international travel, a growing expatriate community and expanding tourism and business opportunities.

Customers travelling from Oman can also explore the natural beauty and rich cultural heritage of Sylhet, renowned for its lush tea gardens, rolling green landscapes and waterfalls.
