BATJA Calls for Responsible Journalism to Strengthen Aviation and Tourism

The Bangladesh Aviation and Tourism Journalists Association (BATJA) has highlighted the paramount importance of objective and responsible journalism as a vital catalyst for the sustainable advancement of the nation’s aviation and tourism industries.

During a view-exchange and discussion meeting held on Tuesday night at a hotel in Banani, members emphasized that maintaining professional integrity and accuracy is essential to supporting these key sectors.

The session focused on invigorating the organisation’s activities and enhancing the professional skills of its members to ensure high-quality reporting. Participants also deliberated on future work plans aimed at fostering a more transparent and accountable media environment for the aviation and tourism fields.

The meeting was chaired by BATJA Convener Alimuzzaman Safwan and moderated by Member Secretary Iman Chowdhury. Permanent members and representatives of the convener committee were in attendance.

Captain Ahmed Imran of Biman Bangladesh joined the event as a special guest. He lauded the positive and constructive role played by the media in the development of the aviation and tourism sectors.

Imran further stressed the necessity of strengthening coordination and cooperation between journalists and industry stakeholders to ensure long-term, sustainable growth.

The event concluded with a collective pledge by the members to uphold professional and responsible journalism while working in unison for the continued development of the country’s aviation and tourism interests.
