Asian Tourism Fair to begin in Dhaka on Sept 17; Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport Joins as Platinum Partner
The 13th Asian Tourism Fair (ATF) 2026 will be held at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka from September 17 to 19, bringing together tourism organisations, hotels, resorts, travel agencies, tour operators and other stakeholders from Bangladesh and abroad.
The organisers made the announcement on Thursday following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Crowne Plaza by IHG Dhaka Airport, which joined the fair as a Platinum Partner.
The MoU was signed by Ashwani Nayar, Area General Manager, IHG South West Asia, and Cluster General Manager of Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport and InterContinental Dhaka Airport, and Mohiuddin Helal, chairman of the Asian Tourism Fair and editor of Parjatan Bichitra.
Nazrul Islam, director of sales and marketing at Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport; Borhan Uddin, fair director; Salahuddin Aton, director (marketing and development); Mahbub Islam Bulu, president of TIGAB; Mehdi Amin Chowdhury, managing director of Convoy Group; and Tanvir Ahmed, former vice president of TOAB, among others, attended the signing ceremony.
As part of the partnership, Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport will provide hospitality support for the Bangladesh Tourism Night & Award, organised by Parjatan Bichitra, at the hotel.
Mohiuddin Helal said the fair would be organised as part of the celebrations of World Tourism Day 2026 and would seek to bring greater attention to Bangladesh’s tourism sector.

“Tourism organisations from home and abroad will participate in the fair with attractive holiday packages, discounts and special offers, particularly to support travel planning for the upcoming winter season,” he said.
He also called for greater media support to promote Bangladesh’s tourism potential and attract more international visitors.
With the approval and overall support of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, the three-day fair will remain open to visitors from 10am to 7pm each day.
More than 300 booths are expected to showcase tourism destinations, accommodation facilities, travel services, tour packages and investment opportunities.
Thailand, the Philippines and the Maldives will participate as partner countries, while Malaysia, Nepal, Bhutan and Sri Lanka will join as feature countries. Tourism organisations and agencies from several other countries are also expected to participate.
The fair will feature business-to-business (B2B) networking sessions, seminars, discussions, cultural programmes and a raffle draw.
The organisers said the event would provide a platform for tourism businesses, investors, professionals, students and visitors to exchange ideas, explore business opportunities and plan domestic and international travel.
The Asian Tourism Fair has for years brought together stakeholders from hotels, resorts, airlines, travel agencies, tour operators, national tourism organisations and other tourism-related sectors.
The organisers expect this year’s event to help promote Bangladesh’s tourism destinations, strengthen industry networking and encourage investment in the sector.
