BHA Celebrates International Housekeeping Week 2026 with Grand Celebration
The Bangladesh Housekeepers’ Association (BHA) celebrated International Housekeeping Week 2026 with great enthusiasm and festivity at Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport, bringing together leading hospitality professionals from across the country.
The celebration commenced with an inaugural ceremony led by Md. Al Amin, Chief Advisor of BHA and General Manager of Renaissance Dhaka Gulshan Hotel, Special Guest Golam Habib, Advisor of BHA, Chief People & Corporate Affairs Officer of Pandughar Group and Vice President of the Bangladesh Handball Federation; Ashwani Nayar, Area General Manager, IHG South West Asia and Cluster General Manager of Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport and InterContinental Dhaka Airport. The event was attended by a number of distinguished figures from the hospitality and corporate sectors, including Khurshed Alam, Advisor of BHA and General Manager of Hotel Elite Palace, Cumilla; ; Khairul Bashar, Advisor of BHA and Executive Director of Nascent Gardenia Hotel; Kartik VK, General Manager of Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan, Alamgir Hossain, General Manager of Platinum Hotel, T. Kevin McIntyre, General Manager of Hyatt Place Dhaka Uttara; and Patrick Beck, General Manager of Hotel Sarina.
The week-long celebration featured a range of engaging competitions and activities designed to recognize the skill, creativity and dedication of housekeeping professionals. Highlights included a Bed Making Competition, Towel Art Competition and a vibrant Cultural Program. In addition, the Super-10 Housekeeping Supervisor & Attendant and Super-3 Laundry Professional competitions were conducted online, allowing participants from across the country to take part.
Outstanding performers in the various competitions were presented with crests and certificates of recognition by BHA in appreciation of their talent, professionalism and contribution to the hospitality industry.
The program was organized under the leadership of Md. Parvej Miah, President of BHA, with the strong support of Khan Ali Azam, Secretary, and Alamgir Hossen, Senior Vice-President. The collective efforts of the BHA leadership, members and volunteers played a significant role in ensuring the successful organization of the celebration.
The event brought together Executive Housekeepers, housekeeping professionals and associates from leading hotels and organizations across Bangladesh, creating an opportunity for industry professionals to connect, celebrate their achievements and strengthen professional camaraderie.
The grand celebration highlighted the vital role of housekeeping professionals in maintaining service excellence and enhancing guest experiences within Bangladesh’s growing hospitality industry.
