Mohammed Younus elected IBCF chairman
Mohammed Younus, Chairman of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC, has been elected Chairman of the Islamic Banks Consultative Forum (IBCF) for a two-year term.
Badiur Rahman, Chairman of Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC, has been elected Senior Vice Chairman, while Zahir Hussain, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank and currently serving as Chairman of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC, has been elected Vice Chairman.
The new executive committee was elected at the 67th meeting of the IBCF held on September 16 at the boardroom of Shahjalal Islami Bank’s head office in Dhaka.
The meeting was presided over by Mohammed Younus. The election was held in accordance with the Memorandum and Articles of Association of the forum.
A number of chairmen, directors, managing directors and senior officials of member banks attended the meeting.
Among those present were Alhaj Md. Nurun Newaz, Chairman of NCC Bank PLC; Ferozur Rahman, Chairman of Standard Islami Bank PLC; Md. Sanaullah Shahid, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC; Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, Managing Director of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC; Mohd. Rafat Ullah Khan, Managing Director of Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC; Md. Altaf Hossain, Managing Director (Acting) of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC; Nurul Islam Khalifa, Honorary Secretary of IBCF; Md. Siddiqur Rahman, Additional Managing Director of Standard Islami Bank PLC; Ataus Samad, Additional Managing Director of Sammilito Islami Bank PLC; A K M Shahnawaj, Additional Managing Director of Dhaka Bank PLC; and M. Nazeem A. Choudhury, Additional Managing Director of Prime Bank PLC.
Md. Tipu Sultan, SEVP and Head of Islamic Banking Division of Dhaka Bank PLC; Md. Azad Rahman, AVP of Islamic Banking Division of Bank Asia PLC; and Jahangir Alam, Assistant Secretary of IBCF, also attended the meeting.
Quazi Shairul Hassan, Chairman of Sammilito Islami Bank PLC, and Abedur Rahman Sikder, Managing Director of the bank, were also listed among the participants but were not present in the photograph.
