Bangladesh Bank and Shahjalal Islami Bank sign a refinance agreement
Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC recently signed two participation agreements with the Sustainable Finance Department of Bangladesh Bank at Bangladesh Banks’ Head Office.
The main purpose of these agreements are to facilitate financing for the establishment of green industries and the development of the ICT sector under a BDT. 2,000 crore refinancing scheme designed to foster sustainable industrialization, eco-friendly production and a technology-driven economy.
A K M Nurunnabi, the Director of the Sustainable Finance Department of Bangladesh Bank and Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, the Managing Director of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC. signed the agreements on behalf of their respective institutions.
Through these agreements, Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC. will be able to play a more effective role increasing financing for the country’s eco-friendly industrial and information technology sectors.
