Central Shariah Board Holds 79th EC Meeting

 The 79th meeting of the Executive Committee of the Central Shariah Board for Islamic Banks of Bangladesh (CSBIB) was held on 1 October at the Head Office of Sammilito Islami Bank PLC, Dhaka. Chairman of the Committee and Managing Director & CEO of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC Mosleh Uddin Ahmed presided over the meeting.

The meeting was attended, among others, by CSBIB Board Chairman Professor Dr. Mohammad Gias Uddin Talukder, Vice-Chairman Principal Dr. Md. Anwar Hosain Molla, Managing Director of Sammilito Islami Bank PLC Abedur Rahman Sikder, Managing Director of Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC Mohd. Rafat Ullah Khan, Managing Director (CC) of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC Dr. M Kamal Uddin Jasim, Managing Director of Southeast Bank PLC Khalid Mahmud Khan, Managing Director & CEO of Standard Islami Bank PLC Riad Mahmud Chowdhury, Managing Director of Mercantile Bank PLC Matiul Hasan, Managing Director of NCC Bank PLC M. Shamsul Arefin, Deputy Managing Director & Managing Director (CC) of Pubali Bank PLC Mohammad Anisuzzaman, Deputy Managing Director of Jamuna Bank PLC Md Shahidul Islam, Deputy Managing Director of Trust Bank PLC Md Kamal Hossain Sarker and Syed Murtaza Hassan of Prime Bank PLC.

The meeting was conducted by the Member Secretary of the Committee and Secretary General (Acting) of CSBIB Mufti Muhammad Muhibbullahil Baqi An-Nadavi.

Besides, Mohammad Anisur Rahman, Director and Mohammad Zakir Hossain, Additional Director of Islami Banking Regulations and Policy Department (IBRPD) of Bangladesh Bank attended the meeting as Special Invitees.

The meeting discussed and took important decisions on various policy and strategic matters of the Central Shariah Board, including amendments to the Constitution and Memorandum of Association of the Board.
