Concord hands over PKSF Bhaban 2 to Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation
Concord has formally handed over PKSF Bhaban 2 to Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), marking the successful completion of the project.
The handover ceremony was attended by Md. Abdul Karim, CFO, Concord Group of Companies, and Md. Hasan Khaled, Deputy Managing Director, PKSF. Other high officials from Concord and PKSF were also present at the ceremony.
PKSF is one of Bangladesh’s leading development organizations. It was established by the Government of Bangladesh in 1990 with the objective of supporting sustainable poverty reduction through employment generation.
The organization works with disadvantaged communities, entrepreneurs, and partner organizations across Bangladesh. The newly handed-over PKSF Bhaban 2 will provide an important space for the organization to continue its activities and pursue its development objectives.
The handover also adds another chapter to Concord’s long history of delivering important institutional and national projects in Bangladesh.
Since its early years, the company has been involved in several significant public-sector and national developments. Their journey started with rebuilding war-damaged bridges and transport infrastructure during the early years of independent Bangladesh. Among Concord’s other notable achievements is the National Martyrs’ Memorial in Savar, which the company completed in 1982.
Concord also constructed the original passenger terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, the VVIP Terminal, and the civil work for the newest Third Terminal. Its portfolio also includes the National Indoor Stadium in Mirpur and several major institutional buildings in Dhaka.
The company constructed notable buildings such as Bangladesh Shilpa Bank Bhaban, Jiban Bima Tower, and Janata Bank Bhaban in Motijheel. These were the first high-rise developments of their time. With the successful handover of PKSF Bhaban 2, Concord adds yet another completed development to its long list of landmark, institutional and nationally significant projects.
For Concord, the occasion represents more than the completion of another building. It is an opportunity to contribute to an institution whose work continues to support communities, livelihoods and development across Bangladesh.
