Underprivileged students of Mathurapara High School receive financial aid
Underprivileged and talented students of Mathurapara Basir Kazi High School in Bogura’s Sariakandi upazila on Wednesday received financial support from the school’s alumni association as part of a charitable initiative.
The assistance was distributed during a special event held on the school premises, organized by the Mathurapara Basir Kazi High School Alumni Association.
The alumni association, which was established in 2020, financed the programme through its welfare fund. The event was chaired by the association’s President Agriculturist Md Mozzafar Rahman.
Kazi Erfanur Rahman Rentu, a member of the school’s founding family, renowned businessman, and social worker, attended as the chief guest.
Other distinguished guests included the school’s Headteacher Kazi Tofayel Ahmed, and the General Secretary of the Alumni Association, Md Shahidul Islam. Joint Secretary and Joint General Secretary Nutritionist Mr. A.H.M. Mofizul Islam Belal, was also present.
Among the notable attendees were Abed Mowla Bahlul Tipu, a student from the 1979 batch and senior manager (research and development) at Jiska Pharmaceuticals, Dhaka; Dr Md Mofazzal Hossain, a fellow 1979 batch alumnus and senior research scientist at Boston University, USA scientific novelist and poet; Md Nazrul Islam Dizu, organizing secretary of the alumni association and director at Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden; and industrialist Badiuzzaman.
As part of this welfare initiative, financial grants were provided to students in various classes of the school, as well as those currently enrolled in public and private universities and medical colleges across the country.
The presence of executive members of the alumni association, former students of the school, and local dignitaries contributed to the event’s success and vibrancy.
