BPC’s Parjatan Motel and Youth Inn inaugurated in Bagerhat

‎A new Parjatan Motel and Youth Inn of Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation (BPC) has been inaugurated in the historic city of Bagerhat recently.

The tourism motel was officially inaugurated by the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs Nasimul Gani and the Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism Nasreen Jahan by unveiling a plaque at Ranbijoypur, Bagerhat.

Nasreen Jahan said, “The estimated cost of constructing this motel on 32 percent of the land, near the main gate of Khan Jahan Ali’s shrine, was 14 crore 27 lakh 75 thousand taka; however, the final cost was around 13 crore taka, which is an example of responsible spending.”

He added, “This motel with modern amenities will not only serve tourists, but will also play an important role in developing the local economy, creating employment, and establishing Bagerhat as an international tourism hub.”

Nasimul Gani, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, participated in the event online. He wished the inaugurated motel for overall success and expressed hope that it will play an important role in increasing the contribution of the tourism sector to national productivity, including increasing revenue.

Among others, the inaugural ceremony was attended by the Chairman of Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation Saema Shaheen Sultana, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism Fatema Rahim Veena, and other senior officials and employees of Bagerhat District Administration and Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation.

The seven-storied building has 30 residential rooms which includes three suite rooms, 12 standard/deluxe rooms, six twin-bedded rooms, three double-bedded rooms (Non-AC), three twin-bedded rooms (Non-AC), three single rooms (Non-AC), three 28 beded dormitory rooms/dormitories (Non-AC), a 60 seated restaurant, a 50 seated conference room, and a16 seated mini conference room.
