Bangladesh set to host biggest tourism fair in October
Over 250 exhibitors from more than 20 countries will take part in the three-day Bangladesh Travel and Tourism Fair (BTTF) 2025, beginning October 30 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre (BCFCC) in the capital.
The Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB), organiser of the country’s flagship tourism expo, today announced that the 13th edition of the fair will feature 220 stalls across four pavilions, drawing an expected 2,000 business representatives and more than 50,000 visitors.
“This year’s fair will showcase a dedicated medical tourism zone,” TOAB President Mohammed Rafiuzzaman told a press briefing at a city hotel on September 1.
He said national tourism organisations from Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan and Sri Lanka have already confirmed participation, while talks are ongoing with several others.
Tour operators and travel agents from Malaysia, the Maldives, China, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Vietnam, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Turkey are also expected, alongside airlines, hotels, resorts, cruise liners, and domestic travel agencies.
Apart from exhibitions, the fair will feature Business-to-Business (B2B) sessions, seminars, and roundtable discussions. Cultural programmes and documentaries on Bangladesh’s tourist destinations will run daily, while raffle draws with attractive prizes will engage visitors.
TOAB Director (Trade and Fair) Md. Taslim Amin Shobhon said the 2025 edition will be “larger, more vibrant and more dynamic than ever.”
He noted that exhibitor registration has been made easier through an upgraded website while, for the first time, a mobile app will guide visitors with venue maps and stall details.
Highlighting the fair’s sustainability agenda, organisers pledged a plastic-free event, tree-planting drives, and eco-friendly tourism campaigns across all eight divisions in the country.
A competition on travel photography, videography, and storytelling will also be held, with winning entries displayed at the fair.
Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation Chairperson Sayema Shaheen Sultana stressed the fair’s role in advancing the tourism sector and assured full government support.
The briefing was moderated by TOAB Director of Media and Public Relations Md. Yunus while Aviation and Tourism Journalists Forum of Bangladesh (ATJFB) President Md Tanzim Anwar also spoke.
