Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden Partners with Mercedes-Benz Bangladesh and CrackPlatoon to Launch EV Charging Stations

Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Mercedes-Benz Bangladesh, represented by Rancon Motors Ltd., and CrackPlatoon Charging Solution Limited to install state-of-the-art Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations at the hotel premises. This strategic collaboration underscores a shared commitment to sustainability and the advancement of green mobility in Bangladesh.

The installation of EV charging infrastructure at the hotel will support the growing number of electric vehicle users while reinforcing the property’s dedication to environmentally responsible operations. As one of the leading hospitality destinations in the country, Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden continues to take meaningful steps toward reducing its carbon footprint. The addition of EV charging stations not only enhances guest convenience but also aligns with global efforts to promote cleaner transportation solutions.

“This partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to sustainability and innovation,” said Duco E. de Vries, Cluster General Manager of Radisson Blu Dhaka and Chattogram. “By working together with Mercedes-Benz Bangladesh and CrackPlatoon Charging Solution Limited, we are creating infrastructure that supports eco-conscious travel and contributes to a greener future. As part of our continuous journey toward environmental responsibility, Radisson Blu Dhaka is proud to be the first in Bangladesh’s hospitality industry to introduce pioneering glass water bottles—replacing single-use plastic with reusable glass for water service and significantly reducing plastic waste. Sustainability is at the heart of our operations, from strict food waste management and water-saving practices to staff-led green initiatives. We actively encourage eco-conscious mobility, including bicycle use and organized staff transport systems to reduce emissions. Our in-house herb garden and vegetable plantations, including papaya trees, ensure fresh, organic sourcing, while ‘Vegetable Day’ every Wednesday promotes healthy and sustainable dining choices. We also invest in large-scale green landscaping to nurture biodiversity, reduce our carbon footprint, and create a cooler, more welcoming environment across our hotel grounds. Through rainwater harvesting and reuse systems, we ensure that every drop of water is valued and utilized responsibly. In that same spirit, the installation of EV charging systems marks another important step in supporting sustainable mobility. Looking ahead, we remain committed to introducing more eco-friendly initiatives as we continue to minimize our environmental impact and contribute to a more sustainable future for our guests and the community.”

The initiative is part of a broader vision to integrate sustainable practices into hospitality services, ensuring guests enjoy a premium experience while minimizing environmental impact. Through this collaboration, all partners aim to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in Bangladesh and support the country’s transition toward a more sustainable and energy-efficient future.
