The Biman Bangladesh Airlines has successfully completed its Pre-Hajj Flight Operations 2026, transporting more than 38,000 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims to Saudi Arabia ahead of this year’s holy pilgrimage.
The national flag carrier formally concluded its pre-Hajj operations on 21 May with flight BG-335 departing from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for Jeddah at 6:10pm carrying 215 pilgrims onboard, according to a press release.
Biman said the airline operated a total of 98 pre-Hajj flights this season, safely transporting 38,680 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia in an organised and comfortable manner.
The 2026 Hajj flight operations were officially inaugurated on 18 April by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
In addition to transporting Biman passengers, the airline also provided ground handling and passenger services for Saudi carriers Saudia and Flynas in Dhaka.
Altogether, Biman handled services for 76,197 passengers during the Hajj operations.
As part of special passenger support initiatives, Biman distributed “Hajj Care Packs” among pilgrims in collaboration with ACI Limited and BRAC Bank PLC.
The airline credited the successful completion of the large-scale national operation to the dedication of thousands of its employees, who worked to ensure smooth and efficient services throughout the Hajj season.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines also expressed gratitude to the relevant ministries, law enforcement agencies, airport authorities and all stakeholders for their support in successfully conducting the Hajj operations.
