Biman Bangladesh Airlines Mourns the Passing of Former MD & CEO Air Vice Marshal (Retd.) Mohammad Rafiqul Islam
Biman Bangladesh Airlines expresses its profound sorrow at the passing of Air Vice Marshal (Retd.) Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, the 10th Chief of Air Staff of the Bangladesh Air Force and former Managing Director & CEO of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
He passed away om 13 August 2026, at approximately 11:35 AM (1135 hours) at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka, due to age-related complications. He was 74 years old.
Air Commodore Mohammad Rafiqul Islam served as the Managing Director and CEO of Biman Bangladesh Airlines for around 3 years, from June 1997 to September 2000.
