Ferozur Rahman elected chairman of Standard Islami Bank
Renowned businessman and social worker Ferozur Rahman has been elected chairman of Standard Islami Bank PLC, says a press release Saturday.
Mr Rahman, who serves as a sponsor director of the bank, is a former district governor of Lions Clubs International, District 315 B2, Bangladesh, and a PMJF Lion. He also founded the Ferozur Rahman Foundation and serves as its chairman.
He served as chairman of Sultanpur Union Parishad in Brahmanbaria for five terms and later as chairman of Sadar Upazila Parishad in the district. According to the bank, he served in various positions in local government for 31 years with distinction.
Mr Rahman has also been involved in the education sector for more than four decades. He served for 42 years in various important positions, including chairman of the governing body of New Model Bahumukhi High School in Sukrabad, Dhanmondi, Dhaka.
He is the founder and chairman of Ferozur Rahman Residential Academy School & College in Yakubnagar, Sultanpur, Brahmanbaria.
Mr Rahman is also one of the sponsors of Sonali Insurance Company Limited and is associated with several educational and charitable organisations.
