Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan hosts 10-day American food carnival
Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan is hosting a 10-day food festival featuring American, Mexican, Caribbean and Latin-inspired cuisine at its Flair restaurant from October 8 to 17.
Titled “American Trucks Food Carnival,” the festival features a range of grilled meats, barbecue items, burgers, seafood, Tex-Mex dishes, salads, desserts and other international favourites.
Among the attractions are the Chicago BBQ Carving Truck, offering smoked prime beef with mashed potatoes, roasted carrots and grilled corn, and the New York Carving Lamb station, featuring whole roasted lamb with garlic, rosemary and Latin spices.
The food carnival also includes a selection of grilled steaks and barbecue items. At the Route 66 Smash Burger Garage, guests can customise burgers with different buns, beef, chicken and seafood patties, along with toppings including caramelised onions, mushrooms, cheddar cheese, guacamole and fried eggs.
The festival also offers Mexican and Latin-inspired dishes such as tacos, burritos, fajitas, quesadillas, guacamole and fresh salsa. Other items include Caribbean fried fish, Caribbean shrimp fricassee, shrimp popcorn, smoked salmon, shrimp cocktail and Cajun-style seafood.
The hot food section features Cajun double-fried chicken, buffalo chicken wings, jalapeño cheesy pops, loaded fries, mac and cheese, American-style pizza, Texas Killer Noodles and Shanghai fried rice.
For lighter options, the cold section includes Mexican Corn and Avocado Salad, Black Bean and Mango Salad, Latin Quinoa Salad, Roasted Beetroot and Orange Salad, Caesar Salad, Thai Beef Salad and Niçoise Salad. An international selection of cheese and bread is also available.
The dessert section features New York cheesecake, apple pie, pecan pie, key lime pie, tres leches cake, Mexican chocolate cake, dulce de leche cheesecake, Brazilian coconut cake, churros, chocolate tacos, coconut flan and chocolate brownies.
“We wanted to create more than just a buffet and give guests an experience of the flavours and food culture of the Americas,” said Karthi VK, General Manager of Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan.
The festival is being held daily from 6:30pm to 10:30pm at Flair. The buffet is priced at Tk 7,499 net per person.
