We Want More Bangladeshis to Discover Tunisia: Usama Ebrahim

Usama Ebrahim, Director for Egypt and Middle East Market at EgyptAir, speaks to Sadik Sagar of The Current View (TCV) about the airline’s initiatives to promote Tunisia among Bangladeshi travelers, ongoing efforts to simplify visa procedures, and its partnership with Dhaka-based travel service provider Alo Dhaka Aviation to facilitate tourism services in Bangladesh.

TCV: What is the purpose of your visit to Bangladesh?

Usama Ebrahim: I am visiting Bangladesh to encourage more Bangladeshi travelers to visit Tunisia. We believe Tunisia has huge potential as an attractive and affordable tourism destination for this market.

TCV: Are there any initiatives regarding tourism promotion and visa facilitation?

Usama Ebrahim: Yes, we are actively working to simplify the Tunisia visa process for Bangladeshi travelers. At the same time, we are also trying to increase flight connectivity from Cairo to Tunisia to make travel more convenient and accessible.

TCV: Are you planning to introduce any travel packages?

Usama Ebrahim: Yes, we are currently preparing to introduce attractive travel packages for Tunisia. These packages will be designed to offer convenient and affordable travel experiences for Bangladeshi tourists.

TCV: Why should Bangladeshi travelers choose Tunisia as a destination?

Usama Ebrahim: Tunisia is a beautiful country where travelers can enjoy a European-style experience at a comparatively affordable cost. Its geographical location is also very attractive for tourists. Italy is only around one hour and 45 minutes away, while Malta is just 25 minutes from Tunisia. Another important advantage is that obtaining a Tunisia visa is relatively easy and affordable, with visa fees costing around USD 55.

TCV: Where can travelers in Dhaka receive support and assistance?

Usama Ebrahim: One of the major advantages for Bangladeshi travelers is that they will be able to receive on-arrival visa support through our Dhaka office, Alo Dhaka Aviation.

In addition, there are daily flights from Cairo to Tunisia, which makes the journey smooth and convenient for passengers.

TCV: You mentioned working with Alo Dhaka Aviation. Are there any other organizations in Bangladesh providing this service?

Usama Ebrahim: At present, Alo Dhaka Aviation is our only authorized agent in Bangladesh for Tunisia-related travel services and support.
