Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan Hosts ‘The Motherhood Movement’ in Collaboration with Brac Bank Tara
In a remarkable celebration of motherhood, entrepreneurship, and empowerment, Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan, in collaboration with BRAC Bank TARA Banking, successfully hosted “The Motherhood Movement” on Sunday, 10 May 2026 — marking Dhaka’s first-ever Mother’s Market.
Held at the elegant Ballroom on the 25th Floor of Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan, the day-long event brought together inspiring mother entrepreneurs, corporate leaders, guests, and media in a vibrant celebration dedicated to recognizing the passion, resilience, and achievements of modern mothers.
At the heart of the event was the “Mother’s Market,” featuring 30 women-led brands showcasing a diverse collection of handcrafted products, fashion, artisanal foods, handmade jewelry, home décor, candles, preserves, and other passion-driven creations. The marketplace created a unique platform for mother entrepreneurs to connect with the community, promote their businesses, and share their inspiring journeys.
Built around the theme “Celebrating Passion, Power & Possibility,” the initiative highlighted the evolving role of mothers as leaders, innovators, and changemakers, balancing family, career, and entrepreneurship with remarkable strength and determination.
Adding further significance to the celebration, the “Passion, Power & Possibility – Leadership Session” featured an engaging panel discussion on “Balancing Business & Motherhood,” moderated by Jannatul Ferdous, Assistant Director, Human Resource, Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan.
The insightful session brought together distinguished industry leaders including Taslima Jaigirder, Executive Director – HR, Petromax LPG, SHV Energy Bangladesh; Barrister Miti Sanjana, Advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh & Founding Partner, Legal Counsel; Anamika Bhakta, Senior Director, Technical Regulations and Communications, Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Division, Robi Axiata PLC; and Tapati Bose, Head of Retail Deposits & Initiatives, Retail Banking Division, BRAC Bank, who shared valuable insights, personal experiences, and inspiring perspectives on leadership, resilience, entrepreneurship, and the realities of balancing business with motherhood.
The event concluded with the “Inspiring Mothers Awards,” honoring exceptional mothers and entrepreneurs whose passion, leadership, resilience, and dedication continue to create meaningful impact across various sectors of society and the business community.
This year, the “Inspiring Mothers Awards” recognized exceptional women whose dedication, leadership, and achievements continue to inspire society and empower future generations. The honorees included Farzana Shaikh Shumi, Founder and Chairperson of Shumi’s Hot Cake Limited; Farzana Rahman Benu, Deputy Director and Head of Human Resources at Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute and Hospital; Sayma Shawkat, Vice President of Bangladesh ICT Stakeholders Alliance; and Anjumanara Shila, alongside recognition for an outstanding entrepreneur from the Mother’s Market.
