Mohamed El Habashy replaces Raslan as financial officer of EgyptAir Bangladesh

Mohamed El Habashy has been appointed as the new Financial Officer of EgyptAir Bangladesh, replacing Raslan, who served in the position for more than three years.

During his tenure, Raslan earned a reputation for his professional service at the EgyptAir Bangladesh office.

Speaking about his new role, Mohamed El Habashy said he was looking forward to working in Bangladesh, having heard from colleagues in his country that Bangladeshis are welcoming and supportive.

“I hope that the conducive environment and hospitality of the Bangladeshi people will help me accomplish my duties successfully,” he said.

Reflecting on his tenure in Bangladesh, Raslan, who has 27 years of experience in the sector, said he was deeply impressed by the hospitality and supportive attitude of the Bangladeshi people.

“When I was posted in Dhaka three and a half years ago, I was very worried as the environment, culture and people of this country were totally unknown to me. But frankly, my worries disappeared within a couple of days after I started my job here. Now I am leaving this country with great satisfaction and a full heart, as I received wonderful support, friendly attitudes and hospitality here,” he said.

In a separate message, Raslan said, “I am leaving Dhaka for now, but my connection with the Bangladeshi people will not end. Hopefully, I will visit Bangladesh whenever the opportunity arises.”

He also said Bangladesh had significant tourism potential that had not been fully promoted internationally.

“Bangladesh has a huge treasure, and that is the warmth of the hearts of its people. I want to thank Bangladeshis for their love, warmth and hospitality,” he said.

EgyptAir entered its third successful year of operations in Bangladesh on May 14. Over the period, the airline has established itself as a carrier for Bangladeshi travellers seeking connections to Africa, the Middle East, Europe and North America through Cairo International Airport.

At present, EgyptAir operates two weekly flights between Dhaka and Cairo. The airline has received approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) to operate daily flights and expects to introduce the expanded schedule soon.

EgyptAir currently operates scheduled passenger and freight services to 84 international and nine domestic destinations across 56 countries in Africa, Europe, Asia and the Americas.

The airline is a member of Star Alliance and is the only carrier based in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to be part of the global airline alliance.
